What does Amos 8 reveal about who God the Father is? God is patient, he gives people a chance to repent and turn to him. However, his patience is limited, there is a day on which it runs out (Amos 8:2)
The Lord reveals the future (Amos 8:1), he is in control of whatever comes to pass.
The Lord is angered by sin (Amos 8:4–6) and does not forget what people do (Amos 8:7). He will not allow sin to go unpunished.
The Lord is in control of creation, he can cause the land to shake with an earthquake (Amos 8:8), the sun to darken (Amos 8:9), and famine to come (Amos 8:11).
1 This is what the Lord GOD showed me: behold, a basket of summer fruit.
