Revelation of God the Son

Joshua 14:1–15 (ESV)

1 These are the inheritances that the people of Israel received in the land of Canaan, which Eleazar the priest and Joshua the son of Nun and the heads of the fathers’ houses of the tribes of the people of Israel gave them to inherit.

What does Joshua 14 reveal about what God does in my place and on my behalf (the work of the Son)? Jesus Christ came to live the perfect life in my place and on my behalf. In order to dwell in God’s presence not only must my sin be covered but I also need to come before him with a perfect righteousness, a life of complete devotion to God. Through faith in Christ, his righteousness is imputed to me so that I can look forward to eternal life in God’s presence. Jesus is also the one who experienced isolation, facing the wrath of the Father so that I can be assured of the Father’s goodwill toward me, even though I should go through pain and suffering in this world.
