What does Acts 7:1–8:1 reveal about what God does in my place and on my behalf (the work of the Son)? The prophet spoken of by Moses, the Righteous One foreseen by Isaiah—he is the Lord Jesus Christ. He lived the perfect life in my place and died the death which my sins deserve. Like the Sanhedrin, I am by nature stubborn and stiff-necked, rejecting God’s Word, and being blind to his work. Thankfully Jesus has also paid for this sin so that I can look forward to life in his presence, which is also in the presence of the Father.
